Jatinder Singh Durhailay is contemporary visual artist and a student of a Indian classical instrument; the Dilruba. My Punjabi language skills aren’t so hot but I know the first part of the instruments name, ‘dil’ translates as ‘heart’ and once you listen too the track below you should realise why. A beautiful rendition of Malkauns. The above photo is also by Jatinder, and you can check out his artwork over at his website.

Now my challenge is too find something that would move on nicely from Malkauns. How about this -

Synth electronics seamlessly fusing with the folk acoustics of Laura Marling. Did Engine Earz do a good job? Absolutely.

I first came across a Soundcloud group called New Weird America last year and was pleasantly surprised by vibes I had never experienced before. Over the last year I have even contributed a few works myself. The groups founder is a lady called, Heidi Harris. Today I share with you the folkess beauty of Heidi’s album, Victorian Canary. It’s fairly long so mellow out and sit back.
You can connect with Heidi over at her Facebook.

Melancholy with a smack a violence and a hint of hope. This is what feel from the track Moszquecho by my friend, J Alexander Finch.
So did this track transport you? It did from me. You can check out more from this artist over at his Soundcloud (well worth checking out).
